Year after year, the bells jingle, the winter is a wonderland and Santa checks his list twice. As Thanksgiving ends, Christmas music can heard everywhere—at home, on your TV and in almost every store you walk into.
The Epoch Times went to the Staten Island Mall to find out how shoppers took the music…
Jennifer Lamantia came to the mall with her friend Kim Cotugno for a safe and convenient shopping trip with their kids. Jennifer said she loved Christmas music but, “this year they started two weeks before Thanksgiving, I wish they would wait until December,” said Jennifer. Both moms admitted the music kept playing in their minds after they left the mall.
Ron Armfield, a mall vendor who is in the mall day in and day out, said that only when it got closer to Christmas was the music uplifting and was a bit much when played so early.
“It gets a little numbing, so I listen to my I-pod,” said Ron.
Ron said he does put on Christmas music at home but only a week or two before Christmas Day.
Joseph Piazza sat on a bench waiting for his wife while she shopped. Joseph, a retired Catholic, said this music played everywhere you went whether you liked listening to it or not. Even so, he said he loved it because it gave him a nice feeling.
“No matter what religion or what country you are from, Christmas music is the best!” said Joseph. [Now That's What I Call Christmas!]
Carmela Alewsi who sat next to Joseph said she wished Christmas music continued playing all year around because giving should be an all year event, but she loved it even more so because it was the music which reminded her of when Jesus was born.
